Common Questions:

Do you provide telehealth and in-person therapy?

Yes, we offer both telehealth and in-person therapy sessions to provide flexibility and convenience for our clients.

What to expect at my first appointment?

Your first appointment will typically involve an intake session, during which you will share information about your concerns, goals, and past experiences. The therapist will also explain their approach, help you make goals, and answer any questions.

How do I prepare for a telehealth session?

-Prepare your equipment. Use a smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Earbuds or headphones are recommended to ensure privacy.

-Maintain privacy and confidentiality. No matter where therapy takes place, privacy and confidentiality are priorities. Everyone deserves a safe space to talk about their mental health.

-Be in a comfortable space. Find a safe, comfortable, private space. Grab a comfort item- a pillow, a blanket, or sometimes a pet nearby can be comforting. Have a box of tissues nearby, and if you think a fidget would be helpful… Grab it!

-Stay on Camera- Facial expressions and body language help us understand how to support you.

-Have Necessary Resources At Hand- We occasionally use handouts or other resources during therapy, sometimes sent ahead of time. Help ensure these resources are ready before the session.

Can parents schedule a consultation?

Yes, parents are welcome to schedule a consultation to discuss their child’s needs and any concerns they may have. This initial meeting allows us to understand the family dynamics and develop a collaborative treatment plan.

Are parents able to talk to the therapist?

Yes, parents can communicate with the therapist through various means, depending on the specific circumstances and the therapist’s policies. This may include phone calls, emails, or in-person meetings.

How often should I attend therapy?

The frequency of therapy sessions varies depending on individual needs and treatment goals. Typically, weekly sessions are recommended initially, but this can be adjusted as progress is made.

What areas do you service?

Our services are available to clients located in the Maryland and DC areas. Telehealth is available for those outside the immediate area.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am not accepting insurance but plan to begin accepting insurance after the new year.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept credit cards, debit cards, cash, checks.

Time for a glow-up?

Many teens and young adults reach a point where they no longer find pleasure in the everyday. They feel like no one understands them, family and friend relationships have become difficult, and they don’t feel a true connection to anyone. These feelings can lead to a loss of self, making one feel anxious and possibly depressed.

By assessing your overall wellness and setting goals, we will work together to help you find clarity, discover yourself, repair and identify healthy relationships, and move onto a more fulfilling chapter. Let us be a part of your glow-up.
